About the Cell
Shikshanmaharshi Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe has given an important place to knowledge, science and good manners in the holy mission of dissemination of education. Great patriot – Late B. N. alias Kakasaheb Chavan also insisted that “Bread is needed but something else is needed”. He gave strong support to Bapuji in the joint venture of making education accessible to the communities located at the remote places. Sansthamata Sushiladevi Salunkhe also continued to shine like a flame during Bapuji’s entire service for the humanity. The Cultural Cell of the College is working to preserve the legacy of the thoughts and works of these great Idols.
Objectives:-
Arts and Fine Arts are inextricably linked with human life. These arts are an integral part of our culture. Human life is fulfilled through various art practices. Hobbies not only give pleasure to human life but also make them creative. Art evolves human life. Our country is known as multilingual and multicultural. Based upon these multifaceted views of human life, following are the major objectives of the Cultural Cell in the venture of developing the budding talents.
Ø To make students endowed with various talents by knowing their interests.
Ø To help build a cultured and creative citizenry.
Ø To inculcate lasting values of culture, traditions and ideals in the minds of students.

Activities conducted by the Cell
To give scope to the latent talents of the students, the following activities are organized on behalf of the Cultural Cell.
Ø Birth anniversaries and death anniversaries of great human beings, national heroes, social workers, dignitaries etc. are organized.
Ø Every year, Shri Swami Vivekananda Week is celebrated from January 12 to January 19. Various events like Book exhibitions, Lectures, Workshops, Essay Competitions, Elocution Competitions, Rangoli Competitions, Mehandi Competitions etc. are organized on this occasion.
Ø Students are encouraged to participate in the Youth Festival conducted on behalf of Shivaji University, Kolhapur, as well as in various festivals organized by various social organizations.
Ø In order to nurture cultural traditions, the ceremonies like Mahabhondala, Traditional Day etc. are organized.
Ø Annual prize ceremonies, various exhibitions, workshops are organized in order to give scope to the latent talents of the students.
