About the College

           Kakasaheb Chavan College, Talmavale is one of the premier Colleges of Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha, Kolhapur. It was founded in 1969 jointly by Shikshanmaharshi Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe and great freedom fighter – Late. B. N. alias Kakasaheb Chavan. It is located in the hilly area of Wang Valley of Patan Tehsil in Satara district. The College is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The College imparts best quality of higher education through Junior and Senior streams of Arts, Commerce and Science. It also emphasizes nurturing Bapuji’s moral values viz. truth, character, honesty, sacrifice and avoiding extortion. The College has state-of-the-art Library with abundant books and subscription of e-journals. The College has well equipped study centers for distance learning. YCMOU’s Centre offers UG programmes whereas Shivaji University’s Centre for Distance and Online Education offers PG programmes. The College has Girls’ Hostel that provides homely stay to the girl students. Gymkhana of the College provides all the facilities to the students aspiring to build career in sports. The College has signed several MoUs with professional institutes in order to provide advanced training to the students.
